No, I feel that his punishment was not fair because they could not relate and did not try to understand where he was coming from. Yes, cheating was bad, but if they had taken the time to find out and understand the pressure he was under the outcome could have been different. If their decision was the same then that is fine but they did not think or attempt to realize his situation. He still deserved to be punished but they should have researched and let him tell them why he did it. He went in to the office and they already had their minds made up that he would be expelled. They had no idea of his side of the story.
I felt that his father treated him well. His father understood that he had not been loving and had put too much pressure on his soon to do well. Some of his friends were good but some were not. I thought the faculty was awful. They were disrespectful and not any bit sympathetic. They did not care that he was leaving. They did not respect him enough to understand why he cheated or what caused him to cheat or how he cheated. They were stubborn and did not change their minds.

Not Waving But Drowning
If you peg someone wrong and you think that they will be thick-headed and a jerk, but they turn out to be really nice and kind and think highly of others it is kind of a good and bad situation. It is good because you don't have to put up with there ego and you met a nice friend. But it is also bad because you have wasted time that you could have been using to hang out with them or become better friends with them. But having a good intial opinion and have that changed is awful. I have had that happen many times. It is bad because you could have been spending time with a person that is nice and fun to be around. You also sometimes could get judged wrong because you hang out with this person. For example if this person turns up to be a drug seller or does drugs, people could think that you do drugs or could have that suspicion. Being wrongly judged is never fun. Even if they think you will be mean and find out you are nice because they could have told somebody intialy that you were not who you are and that person tells somebody and the chain goes on and on. Hopefully no one ever gets pegged as nice and kind when they are not. Either way I don't think people should judge others before meeting them and hanging out with them a couple of times. You can't judge a book by its cover.
